ExtenZe Racing’s Christopher Winter to Make SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series Debut

The 20 year-old Arcadia, California Native will make his debut during this Labor Day weekend’s running of the SRL Touring 100 at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale

Charlotte, N.C. (September 3, 2010) – With only a handful of starts in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Late Model Series and one NASCAR Super Late Model race under his belt, Christopher Winter’s racing resume may be a little thinner than the competition’s, but he has quickly shown his natural, raw talent and racing prowess behind the wheel of 650 horse power race cars. With the backing of ExtenZe, who also sponsors NASCAR’s 2010 leading Sprint cup Series Rookie-of-the-Year driver Kevin Conway, the 20 year-old Arcadia, Calif., native will make his SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Series debut this Labor Day Weekend driving the No. 26 ExtenZe Racing machine during Saturday night’s running of the SRL Touring Series 100 at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.

Since making his debut in the NASCAR Auto Club Late Model Series at Irwindale on May 29th Winter has competed in seven of the 12 races run thus far in the 2010 season and currently sits 17th in the points standings. Although he has entered racing at a fairly late age compared to most of his competition Christopher hasn’t let that intimidate him or slow him down and is coming off a very impressive sixth place finish in his first start ever in the NASCAR Super Late Model Division that took place on August, 28th at Irwindale where, after starting 10th he went onto outperform many veteran seasoned drivers.

“Our strong finish in the Super Late Model race last weekend gave me a lot of confidence as I prepare to make my SRL Southwest Tour Series debut,” said Winter. “This will be the longest race that I have ever run but I’m excited to race 100 laps with some of the best short-track racers in the country and continue to learn and gain experience.”

The SRL Southwest Tour Series has been the final stepping stone before reaching the premiere divisions of NASCAR for many drivers such as Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, Matt Crafton and others. In everything Christopher drives, he proves he has what it takes to be a champion, from extensive testing in off-road trucks, Porsche GT3R Carrera Cup cars, and as a development driver for ExtenZe Racing, he certainly has a big future.

Kevin Conway and ExtenZe Racing Sign with Robby Gordon Motorsports for the Remainder of the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Season

For Immediate Release

Charlotte, N.C. (August 31, 2010) – Kevin Conway, the leading 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Raybestos Rookie of the Year driver, and ExtenZe Racing officially announce today that they will be teaming with Robby Gordon Motorsports (RGM) for the balance of the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season beginning this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

For Sunday’s running of the Emory Healthcare 500, fans will find Conway behind the wheel of the No. 7 ExtenZe Racing Toyota. Conway heads into the Atlanta race weekend leading Terry Cook in the Sprint Cup Series Raybestos Rookie Standings by 154 points (192-38) and looks to better his 31st-place finish at Atlanta earlier this year.

Prior to making this announcement, Conway had one start for RGM at Bristol Motor Speedway earlier this month and 21 starts this year for Front Row Motorsports (FRM), capturing 21 straight Raybestos Rookie of the Race awards and giving FRM its best finish since its inception in 2005 with a 14th-place finish at Daytona International Speedway on July 3rd. He also became the first Raybestos Rookie to lead a lap at the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 25th since Jamie McMurray did so in 2003.

“I am thrilled to finally be able to announce our signing with Robby Gordon Motorsports,” says Conway. “The Bristol race a couple weekends ago came together very late and gave everyone just a quick peek at what was possibly to come. Now that everything is in place I can’t wait to take to the track this weekend in Atlanta in the No. 7 ExtenZe Racing Toyota.

“I am very thankful for this opportunity Robby has given me and ExtenZe. I’m looking forward to helping keep the No. 7 in the top-35, gaining more seat time and finishing races while reaching my ultimate goal of claiming the 2010 Raybestos Rookie of the Year title with RGM,” added Conway.

“Moving our racing program with Kevin over to Robby Gordon Motorsports was a no brainer really,” said Robert Wilhovsky, Director of Motorsports Marketing for ExtenZe. “Robby has a great organization with very good equipment and a car locked into the top-35 owner’s points that will allow us to get Kevin more seat time and help him continue to grow as a driver.

“We look forward to the remainder of the year with RGM and are glad we get to have him and his organization join Kevin’s quest to be crowned the 2010 Raybestos Rookie of the Year driver,” added Wilhovsky.

“We are excited to have ExtenZe Racing and Kevin Conway join Robby Gordon Motorsports. This is an excellent opportunity for everyone involved, and I am excited to have Kevin behind the wheel of the No. 7,” added Robby Gordon. “I hope that we will be able help Kevin bring home the Rookie of the Year Award while expanding our team and his on-track experience.”

Kevin Conway and ExtenZe Racing Suspend Their Program with Front Row Motorsports with Yates Racing

Statesville, N.C. (August 13, 2010) – Kevin Conway, the leading 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Raybestos Rookie of the Year driver and ExtenZe Racing announce today that they are suspending their program with Front Row Motorsports with Yates Racing (FRM) effective immediately.

In 21 starts this year for FRM, Conway captured 21 straight Rookie of the Race awards while padding a 153 point lead in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings. He also gave FRM its best finish in the team’s history since its inception back in 2005 when he finished 14th at Daytona International Speedway on July 3rd. Kevin has consistently finished right in line with his veteran teammates David Gilliland and Travis Kvapil in each race he has competed in this year.

He also became the first Raybestos Rookie to lead a lap at the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 25th since Jamie McMurray did so twice for 22 laps back in 2003.

“First, I want to thank Front Row Motorsports with Yates Racing and Ford for giving me an opportunity to drive for them this year,” said Conway. “It has been a really big learning year for me and I certainly couldn’t have made it this far without Front Row, support from Ford, and the veteran leadership of my crew chief Peter Sospenzo and my teammates David (Gilliland) and Travis (Kvapil).

“It was exciting for me to be able to give Front Row their best finish in the team’s history and it’s unfortunate that we can’t work it out to remain in the car for the immediate future. From here, I am looking forward to what lies ahead for myself and ExtenZe Racing for the remainder of 2010 and beyond,” added Conway.

“As was released earlier this week, ExtenZe and Alteril are 100% committed to Kevin Conway and the sport of NASCAR,” said Robert Wilhovsky, Director of Motorsports Marketing. “While we are currently evaluating our options for the rest of 2010 and next year, Conway has been and will continue to be the foundation of our NASCAR program in the years ahead.

“We knew this was going to be a big learning year for him and it has been incredible what he has been able to accomplish with very limited resources finishing right there with his much more experienced and veteran teammates each and every week while competing on many of the tracks for the first time in any type of race car.

“It has been exciting to watch Kevin develop this year as a driver and we are very excited to be a part of his quest to become the 2010 Raybestos Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  Kevin has a big future with us and in NASCAR and we look forward to what lies ahead,” added Wilhovsky.

ExtenZe Racing Heluva Goods! Sour Cream Dips at the Glen Race Recap

Track: Watkins Glen International, 2.45-mile road course, Watkins Glen, New York

Kevin Conway, No. 34 ExtenZe Ford Fusion

Starting Position: 42nd

Finishing Position: 31st

Road racing is challenging enough for veteran NASCAR drivers, with the series schedule including only two road-course events.  On Sunday at Watkins Glen International, NASCAR’s leading Sprint Cup Series Raybestos Rookie of the Year driver, Kevin Conway started only his second road race of his Sprint Cup career.

After starting in the 42nd position, Conway and the ExtenZe Racing team made good gains during their first appearance at the fast course in the Finger Lakes Region, including recovering from an early spin.  The team ran clean the rest of the race and finished 31st on the lead lap. This finish gave Conway his 21st straight Raybestos Rookie of the Race award.

Next up on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule is a return visit to Michigan International Speedway for the running of the CARFAX 400 on Sunday, August 15.

Comments from ExtenZe Racing Ford Team Driver Kevin Conway after the Watkins Glen race:

“It started out a little bit rough but we figured it out.  I spun early in the inner loop and got us a lap down.  Got that lap back and the whole ExtenZe Racing team did a really good job getting the car a lot better and just learned a lot and again finished again right there with our teammate.  We’ll take that and head on to Michigan and see what we can learn there and try to add to our Raybestos Rookie of the Year points lead.

“Michigan is a racetrack where we had engine failure 38 laps in but we had a really good car.  It’s a racetrack I can’t wait to get to.  I really like the two-mile, mile-and-a-half racetracks so getting back to a little bit of something more than I know and a racetrack that I’ve been to before.”

ExtenZe Racing Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500 Race Recap

Track: Pocono Raceway, 2.5-mile oval, Long Pond, Pennsylvania

Kevin Conway, No. 34 ExtenZe Ford Fusion

Starting Position: 41

Finishing Position: 31

NASCAR’s leading Sprint Cup Series Raybestos Rookie of the Year driver Kevin Conway and the No. 34 ExtenZe Racing team returned to Pocono Raceway for Sunday’s running of the Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500. The track in Long Pong, Pa is the first repeat track for the rookie driver this year and the results showed improvement.

Starting from the 41st position, Conway quickly passed the slower cars that fill the field weekly.  He comfortably set his pace with the top-30 cars, but a lack of grip didn’t allow him to advance any further.  A very long stretch of green flag runs eventually put Conway two laps down, but many other competitors also struggled with handling.

Late in the race, after a red flag period for a major accident and rain, the track had cooled and Conway became tight.  For the remainder of the race he competed with his teammate David Gilliland for 30th, but in the end settled for the 31st spot and secured his 20th straight Raybestos Rookie of the Race award.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule’s next stop is at Watkins Glen International for the running of the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at the Glen on Sunday, August 8th.

Comments from ExtenZe Racing Ford Team Driver Kevin Conway after the Pennsylvania 500:

“We were better this time around, but the competition was pretty tight today too.  We were racing with our teammates and really David the last 100 laps.  We were all right there with Travis a lap ahead of us.

“We just dug ourselves a whole early. We had no grip and I just wanted to tighten the car up.  Peter (crew chief Peter Sospenzo) and the guys did a great job of doing that.  It helped, but the track got cooler.  We were a bit tight at the end, but we were right there with everyone.  It gives us a lot of confidence as we go back to the tracks we’ve raced.”
